Messaging Policy

This Messaging Policy explains the myFamilySpace SMS program — what messages we send, how you opt in, and how to opt out. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
1. Program & brand
The program is operated by myFamilySpace, a family organization app. These are transactional, account-based messages tied to your family’s activity — not marketing or promotional messages.
2. Types of messages we send
- Event and schedule reminders
- Chore assignments and updates
- Family invitation and RSVP confirmations, including links to confirm
- Shopping list and grocery updates
3. How you opt in
SMS is strictly opt-in. You provide your mobile number inside the myFamilySpace app (on your Profile) and turn on SMS notifications. At the point of entry, the app shows this consent notice:
“By adding your number you agree to receive SMS event reminders from myFamilySpace. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
We never purchase phone numbers and never collect opt-in consent from third parties. Consent is given knowingly by the account holder inside the app.
4. Message frequency & rates
Message frequency varies based on your family’s activity and your notification preferences. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.
5. Opting out (STOP) and help (HELP)
Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You’ll receive a one-time confirmation and we’ll stop sending SMS to that number. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your account — push notifications and in-app alerts remain available. Reply HELP for help, or contact us any time at support@myfamilyspace.app.
6. Privacy & your mobile information
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of mobile opt-in data described in this policy — including the consent itself — are excluded from any third-party sharing.
Your mobile number is used solely to deliver the messages you opted in to receive. We use Twilio as our SMS delivery provider, acting on our behalf under a confidentiality agreement. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
